Nos encantó la brisa en la cubierta abierta mientras subíamos por las colinas de Funchal y contemplábamos la ciudad de tejados rojos abajo. El tour en el Yellow Bus nos ofreció una forma relajada de disfrutar del paisaje sin prisas.

Our tip: start at the first bus around 9:30 am to make the most of the 24 h window, and head straight to Câmara de Lobos before it gets busy. We found fewer people there in the morning and the light was better for photos. The bus back via the coast was relaxing and scenic.

We chose the 24‑hour 2‑in‑1 route to cover Funchal + Câmara de Lobos and found it to be a smart decision. The information (via headphones) pointed out interesting sights we would otherwise have missed, like viewpoints and local history. The staff were courteous and the bus was clean and comfortable. Highly recommend for first‑time visitors.

What stood out was how easy everything was: one ticket, clear stops, and decent commentary. For the price we felt it offered good value. We used it to scout locations, then later returned to our favourite stop for lunch.

Travelling with our two children, the open‑top deck of the Yellow Bus was fun, and we appreciated that the bus route took us up into the hills around Funchal with sweeping views of coast and cliffs. It gave us time to explore without stressing about how to get back.

Excellent option if you want to avoid renting a car but still see a lot. The route was well planned, with plenty of stops at interesting places. Plus, we didn’t have to worry about parking — just hop on and go!

What stood out: the audio guide in multiple languages made the ride informative, and the route up to the hillside viewpoint was spectacular. The downside: the top deck gets quite hot in midday sun so bring sunblock and a hat. Otherwise, a very worthy tour.
