Machico Medium Madeira Trail Tour

Starting this Madeira Trail Tour next to the sandy beach of the city of Machico, the ascent is by a path between houses, entering then in a trail that ends at Pico do Facho. During this uphill we are gifted with a view from above of this city. Close to Pico do Facho we follow
another trail that climbs to Pico Castanho and we continue till Pico das Roçadas, where you can have an excellent and chilling view of the Northern coastal cliffs of the island.

Always going near the cliffs with a far view of the island of Porto Santo, then we begin the descent to the village of Caniçal where along the promenade we can feel the sea breeze. After reaching Ribeira do Natal, the ascent is a technical trail between the slopes in the South between the Caniçal and Machico, where sometimes we can be overflown by airplanes on approach to Funchal’s international airport. Coming back to Pico do Facho, we follow a technical descent that ends next to the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Machico where we continue by the road and some steps to the beach of Machico.
