Medium Madeira Trail Tour beginning in Encumeada we go in the opposite direction of Levada do Norte, with the Valley of Ribeira Brava on the left. After a long tunnel that leads to the North side of the island, we continue to follow the Levada do Norte penetrating in the dense Laurens Forest, passing by a few more tunnels before starting the ascent to the Paredão. This rise has more than 200 wooden steps and requires some muscular endurance, but the arrival at the Paredão allows you to forget the fatigue of the climb with one of the most beautiful views of Madeira. Here we are at the heart of the Laurens Forest surrounded by green hills and with fantastic views of the São Vicente Valley.

After re-invigorate the energies, we continue through a trail covered by Heather with the size of trees, reaching the Lagoa do Caramujo. Upon arriving at the dirt road of Ginjas, we go in again on the trail marked and climb a little more to the Pináculo, then go down to the levada till reaching the road in Lombo do Mouro. With a splendid view over the Valley of Ribeira Brava and the central mountainous massif, we return
relaxing by the road to Encumeada.
