Encumeada Hard Madeira Trail Tour

This Madeira Trail Tour track begins at Encumeada, central zone that divides the North from the South of the island of Madeira. The first part of the course is an easy trail passin through Curral Jangão and rising gradually on the South side of the Central mountain massif to the Chão das Relvinhas going down here through a technical trail to Fajã Escura, in Curral das Freiras. Coming up the road to Fajã dos Cardos where enter left in a trail surrounded by agricultural plantations where we start going up in the shadow of a large eucalyptus trees to the Boca das Torrinhas. Here we can stop a few minutes to admire the Valley of Curral das Freiras and the mountains that surround it. Then we retake the course with constant ups and downs in trail and basaltic steps along the Central mountain massif until reaching the Encumeada.
