This Medium Madeira Trail Tour track starts in Chão da Ribeira, at Seixal. A deep valley through the great mountains of the North of the island. Following the road to its end we entered the Vereda das Voltas, an interminable zig-zag ascent through the Laurens Forest coming out on the road of Fanal and entering ahead in a dirt road that ends in Fanal, a zone with centenarians stinkwood (Ocotea foetens), where usually a few cows are pasturing. Following again by a trail and down towards Fio, the descent is made by a very technical trail, the Vereda da Cavaca. This trail made up of mud, leaves, stones and roots is as beautiful as dangerous, so the attention will have to be redoubled. After the long descent, the arrival is made again though the road to the point of beginning.
