The tour begins in Câmara de Lobos, the picturesque fishing village that inspired Winston Churchill. We then head to the impressive Cabo Girão (entrance not included), one of Europe’s highest sea cliffs, offering panoramic views over the ocean and Madeira’s southern coastline, before making a short stop in the charming village of Ribeira Brava. The adventure continues to the magical Fanal Forest, where centuries-old trees shrouded in mist create a truly fairytale-like setting. Next, we visit the highlight of the tour, Porto Moniz, famous for its natural volcanic swimming pools and the spectacular scenery of Madeira’s northern coast. On the way back, we pass through Seixal to admire the iconic Véu da Noiva waterfall and finish in São Vicente, one of the island’s most traditional villages, nestled in a lush green valley. Picked-up from our hotel right on time. The guide/driver for the small-group tour was very informative. Tour gave just about the right amount of time to see most of the attractions at each stop.
My husband and I had a wonderful day with the very knowledgable Ricardo as our guide, from the lovely seaside towns of Camara de Lobos and Ribeira Brava, the views from Cabo Girau, through eucalyptus forests to the Paul da Serra plateau and the laurasilva. We couldn’t believe the change in temperature and climate as we crossed the plateau; warm sunshine on the coast and misty landscape on top. Porto Moniz was great, with stunning crashing waves and the north coast a total change. Thank you, Ricardo, for making this a memorable day.

Fernando was a great driver and gave us lots of information/fun facts. Interesting trip with several short stops for photos at view points and time for a great lunch too. Really good to see forest and around other parts of Madeira from Funchal. Picked up and dropped back at our hotel. Even had a phone call to see if we had been collected as lots of traffic in city that morning. Well organised and good value.
