The trip was very informative, the guide was excellent and helpful throughout and it was limited in number (Better than 30+ people on a coach in my view). The price was average for a guided journey, what you would normally expect to pay and it arrived on time. A good tour all around. Only small issue was the pick up point for us. It was right by a busy bus stop so there was a bit of confusion, on our part, who was picking us up but that was resolved quickly. Perhaps a collection point away from this?

We had a wonderful trip to Nuns Valley today with Rafaello as our guide. Our two viewpoint stops were stunning; Pico dos Barcelos gave great views over Funchal, where Rafaello explained about the geology and geography of the sights. The scenery at our second viewpoint, Eira do Serrado, was both breathtaking and fabulous. Rafaello was an excellent guide; very informative and humorous, plus a very skilled driver on tough roads. We enjoyed tasting the liqueurs in Curral das Freiras and loved the roasted chestnuts in the cafe.
