Great tour! Most of the time it's an easy walk on solid paths. Few times you have to climb stairs to get to the next section. The weather up there is very different from the coast. Definitely dress warm enough, the hike starts a peak where it's quite cold (6°C in our case), bring good shoes and a rain jacket. When we were done we walked some 11km, saw the water falls, flora and fauna. The guide did a great job in telling us about the ecosystem and the history of the area.

Elton was our tour guide for our Levada experience. He was very kind helpful and knowledgable about everything during our trip. Would definitely recommend but a pre warning it isn’t just as simple as walking. An elderly gentleman had to be taken off the walk due to being unable to manage the steps and terrain. Elton acknowledged this early enough to prevent him being in a dangerous area during the trip.

We really recommend that you wear practical walking shoes or boots (no flip-flops :) and bring along a bottle of water and a waterproof. The weather can change quickly. For full day walks we also recommend bringing a snack or picnic. We would also suggest bringing a jacket.
