Depart Funchal by 4×4 vehicle and journey to one of the island’s most impressive views. visit Câmara de Lobos, where Sir Winston Churchill was inspired to paint the landscape. Go to Cabo Girão on the southern coast, where a glass-floored viewing platform was installed, the Cabo Girão Skywalk is the highest in Europe. Then, travel to “Quinta Grande”. riding our Buggy through Terreiros, Lugar da Serra and Fontes, start the difficult ascent to the “Chao dos Terreiros” (1436 m) to Trompica forest house again in the dirt roads to Fonte dos Burros from where you can observe the Serra D’água and Encumeada from above, and all the mountains around them. A little farther away we can see a part of Paúl da Serra and its wind farm. Going down we can come across some cows that usually graze the site. Time to return to Funchal, and journey through the countryside using old roads. Discover some of Madeira’s traditional villages, such as Campanário, Lugar da Serra and São Paulo.
