This is one special tour starting in Queimadas, where we will enjoy the beauty and freshness of centuries old laurels. The hike is delightfully green combined with stunning views of mountains, valleys and waterfalls, as well as over the village of São Jorge. You will pass by some tunnels along the trail, so it is highly recommended to bring an impermeable jacket, flashlight and appropriate footwear. The impressive waterfall Caldeirão Verde, where the water falls into a cool and crystal clear lagoon, it is not only a spectacular view, but also very relaxing. Our tour guide, Mario, was excellent. The tour is easy to moderate as there are tree roots and narrow sections. Coat needed as there is spray from the water falls. Views were amazing. Highly recommend this tour.
Remember to bring water and, for full-day hikes, enough snacks for the walk. For those with more sensitive skin, it’s important to use sunscreen. It’s also recommended to bring a windbreaker in case of rain or wind. Additionally, don’t forget to use trekking poles and good hiking shoes to ensure more safety and comfort during the trip.
