Stone Peak Viewpoint is situated along the road from the Pico das Pedras Forest Park to Achada do Teixeira. The road is open daily between 7:00 and 21:00. In Pico das Pedras Forest Forest Park you can see Madeira’s original forest flora, with many native plants, some of them rare. It is possible to observe some of the bird of the island’s fauna. In the viewpoint you can have a great panoramic view from São Jorge to the Ponta de São Lourenço with emphasis to the Penha d’Águia in Porto da Cruz. On the opposite side you can also see the central mountain massif.
