The Pico Castelo Viewpoint is located on Porto Santo Island. It is one of the privileged points to admire the beauty of this natural landscape, from where you can see some islets that surround the island as well as the city of Vila Baleira in the background, such as the islets of Cal and de Cima. This viewpoint is located at an altitude of 430 meters, where nearby there are still ruins of a 16th century fortress, a symbol of the defense of the population from the continued French and Algerian pirate attacks on the Island.
