The Garajau Nature Reserve is located in Garajau site Canico, close to Garajau Beach. This reserve, established in 1986 and located on the southern coast of the island of Madeira is a fantastic marine reserve. Among the fauna that it can be seen, include a few large fish like the Mero (Epinephalus guaza) or blanket and manta rays (Manta birostris, mobular Mobula), whose size and graceful movements make the place one international type, as well as a variety of other coastal species.
