In the past this place was only accessible by boat but in 2003, an elevator was built there, which is called ‘’cable car Rancho’’, and you can still visit the place and go along the coast of the huge cliff down to Fajã dos Padres.

And you are a adrenaline junkie this is a privileged place for paragliding and base-jumping.

Why does it call ‘’Cabo girão’’?
The name of the cable (Cabo) was given by the discoverers, since the great promontory served as a point of reference as the end of the tour(Giro) on the first day of reconnaissance of Madeira's sea coast.
