The Winston Churchill Viewpoint is located in Camara de Lobos, the entrance to the city. It offers a magnificent panoramic view of the portage, the bay and the Camara de Lobos islet. This belvedere was built in 1963, it was known at the time as a lookout of the Holy Spirit. Later changes name as a way to perpetuate and honor the passing of Winston Churchill by the picturesque village of Câmara de Lobos, because it was there that the British Prime Minister painted a picture commemorating the bay.
