The Church of Socorro, also known as the Church of São Tiago, is located in Largo do Socorro in Funchal. Its construction dates back to the 17th century, having been rebuilt on several occasions over the years due to damage caused by natural phenomena. It is one of the Madeiran churches that bears the greatest marks of the Baroque style evident in its facades, and its interior features decorated altars, gilded woodwork, and an atmosphere of serenity.
