The Chapel of Senhor dos Milagres is located in Machico. This is a baroque chapel built on the site of a 15th-century hermitage, which was destroyed by the flood of 1803. Some original stones from the portico of the previously destroyed building have been preserved, and we can still find there the image of the crucified Christ that was recovered after being carried away by the flood.
