Palace of the Regional Government of Madeira Island, located in the center of Funchal, was built at the end of the 17th century. This is a building that has great importance in the history of the city and was used for solidarity purposes such as the Misericórdia do Funchal and the city Hospital. It was at the end of the 20th century that it was passed into the possession of the Regional Executive and converted into the Regional Government Palace. Despite having undergone several changes over the years, it is still possible to find some decorative elements from the period, such as the polychrome tile panels from the 17th century.
