The Pico Areeiro to Pico Ruivo trail is probably one of the most popular trails on Madeira Island, a true must-have experience. Pico Ruivo (1862 meters) is the highest mountain on Madeira Island and offers dramatic views of mountainous landscapes sometimes surrounded by a sea of fluffy clouds just below. During this trail you can experience the sensation of walking on top of the clouds through a path that can sometimes be a bit challenging with uneven slopes and tunnels. The views, however, are absolutely worth it. You will feel on top of the world. This private transfer to Pico do Areeiro and return from Achada da Teixeira is perfect for a self-guided hike. You will be picked up at Hotel and the driver will drop you off in Pico do Areeiro. After you hike from Pico do Areeiro to Pico Ruivo, you have to walk a bit further down to Achada do Teixeira car park, where you will be picked up to return to your hotel.
