PR15 Vereda da Ribeira da Janela Hiking Trail

The PR15 Vereda da Ribeira da Janela Hiking Trail has an extension of 2.7 km, with a duration of 1:30 hours, starts at Curral Falso (Fanal). Much of the route is downhill towards the Ribeira da Janela, between 820m and 400 meters.
This trail follows the remnants of an old footpath used by the inhabitants to the essential wood resources to their daily lives. It was the path used by the population for the connection with the south zone locations.

During this course we look at the long-toed pigeon (Columba trocaz), endemic species of Madeira (exclusive Madeira).
This route allows connection to routes: PR14 Levada dos Cedros Walk and PR13 Vereda do Fanal both with access to the Fanal zone.
In Ribeira da Janela you can see its the terraces, supported by stone walls laboriously worked.
