The Discoveries Monument is located on the Porto Santo island and was erected in honor of the "henriquean" discoveries. Commonly known as the “soap stick”, it is formed by a tall and impressive section where, on each side are allusive reliefs to the discoveries of the Infante D. Henrique time. Inaugurated on August 28, 1960, the Discoveries Monument, a work of Antonio Aragão is located in Alameda do Infante site.
