We weren’t sure what to expect, but this catamaran cruise exceeded all expectations. From the comfy shaded and open‑deck areas to the clear commentary on marine conservation, it all felt well done. About an hour in we saw a large pod of dolphins, minutes later a pair of pilot whales close by. It felt amazing to be so near these creatures in their own environment. The crew’s respect for the animals and their habitat made the experience feel authentic and special.

The experience of being so close to dolphins and whales in the wild is something I will never forget. The catamaran is comfortable, and the onboard atmosphere is very friendly and safe.

I had an amazing experience on the 3-hour boat trip with Sea Born! The tour started right on time at 10:30, and from the beginning, the crew was friendly and professional. The boat was comfortable, clean, and offered stunning views of the coastline. Along the way, we got to see dolphins. The staff were very attentive and always made sure everyone was having a great time.

I can’t recommend this tour enough. The team was clearly experienced and cared deeply about protecting the wildlife. We saw several pods of dolphins and a whale — all at a respectful distance.

From the moment we boarded the catamaran at the harbour in Funchal, it was clear we were in for something special. The crew were warm and attentive, the boat super comfortable, and within minutes we encountered a lively pod of dolphins playing in the surf. Then we spotted a group of pilot whales gliding nearby. The commentary was informative (we learned so much about the local species) and the setting—Madeira’s west coast cliffs shimmering in the sunlight—was breathtaking. A highlight of our holiday!
