The PR13 Vereda do Fanal Hiking Trail is 10.8 km with a duration of 4 hours. This route begins at the Paul da Serra plateau (Whistlers – Assobiadores) and ends at the Fanal Forestry House, across a wide patch of forest laurel.
This route is part of the Laurel forest classified as World Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO since December 1999 and member of the European Community lmportância Network of Sites – Natura 2000.
Enjoy the magnificent area of Fanal, a small volcanic, classified “Reserve Rest and Quiet” by the Natural Park of Madeira, to enjoy a moment of pure relaxation. Here, its beauty lies not only in the imposing and ancient forests of tis (Ocotea foetens), highlighting a few specimens that have resisted since the discovery of the island, as in the spectacular landscapes visible from the viewpoints.
