Porto da Cruz 1 Medium Madeira Trail Tour

This Medium Madeira Trail Tour track starts next to the Alagoa Beach in Porto da Cruz climbing a path and following a Levada till we start a steep climbing to the top of Penha D’Águia to contemplate a fantastic view over the village of Porto da Cruz and the surrounding area. The descent is made by a technical trail on the side of Faial and upon arrival at the road, we go back to Porto da Cruz contouring the Penha D ‘ Águia in its base through a levada, following to Terra Baptista, high areas of Porto da Cruz. Here, we enter a long climb up to Pico do Suna to get down to Lamaceiros where there is a large pond of water storage for agriculture irrigation, and further down we arrive to the view point Portela, where we can have a top view of the entire village of Porto da Cruz.

From here the route follows the dirt road, passing by a single track immersed in dense forest there, until you get to Funduras. The descent to the Porto da Cruz is made by a very steep and technical trail that ends at the Larano. Following the road and footpaths, we arrive at the Maiata Beach, and we finish the course with a few more meters by the sea to enter the Centre of Porto da Cruz.
