Chão dos Louros Easy Madeira Trail Tour

This Easy Madeira Trail Tour track begins in the picnic area of the Chão dos Louros and then down toward the Rosario by trails of wooden steps and dirt road. Upon arrival to the Rosário, the ascent takes place through farmland and paths to Fajã da Ama, crossing the Levada do Rodrigues, where we enter a trail in the Folhadal area, well inside the Laurel Forest area belonging to the Natura 2000 Network.


Reaching the Levada do Norte, drifting to the left and following it to Encumeada along the way we can observe the whole valley of São Vicente, the Pináculo and the central mountain ridge of Madeira Island. In Encumeada we go down again through trails and wooden steps to get back to Chão dos Louros.
