The Cristo Rei Viewpoint in Garajau “Tern” has a statue of Cristo Rei reason why wed the name. This statue was built in 1927, previous to the statue of the city of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) that was built in 1931. This statue was built in order to welcome the strangers who came to Madeira by sea. Cristo Rei Viewpoint have a unique view of the Atlantic Ocean, The Natural Reserve of Garajau and part of Funchal bay.
